Each year gardens in Redland or Cotham are opened to RCAS members and guests, usually one Sunday in June. We divide the area into three:
This gives the owners a chance to rest and see other gardens whilst their gardens develop and mature. Those taking part are invited for drinks the afternoon before and have the opportunity to view the gardens of the other gardeners present. A thoroughly social affair! Some gardeners take the opportunity to raise money for good causes by offering teas or selling plants. If nothing else, it is a chance to meet your neighbours – something many have little time to do. The generosity of gardeners is really appreciated by everyone and new gardens are always welcome.
