bullet

£40 p.a. permit for the first car, £80 p.a. for a second car (where allowed). A third vehicle (allowed only in exceptional circumstances) will cost £500 p.a.

bullet

100 visitor tickets per household allowed per year, at £1 per visit, each valid for one day (and night), with exceptions for regular care visits.

bullet

All permits car-specific, and thus non-transferable.

bullet

All other non-permit parking in Pay-&-Display bays at £1 per hour, maximum stay 4 hours

bullet

Penalties for all infringements will be £60, issued by additional enforcement staff

The University Precinct

Bristol University has produced a Strategic Master Plan for what is known as The University Precinct. This is a huge area, bounded on the Society’s side by Cotham Hill, Woodland Road and the top part of St Michael’s Hill. The plans include bringing the Students Union from Clifton and a significant number of new buildings. Clearly this plan will have an impact on our area. You can read more, including the RCAS response to the consultation document, on the Planning page.

The new Licensing act has been in operation since November 24th 2005. RCAS has been assisting residents by interpreting Applications for new Licences in our area, liaising with the police, objecting where necessary and attending the Council Hearings. See Licensing page for more information, and to read about RCAS's 4 years of campaigning for a licensing system that is fairer to residents. Also for advice to members and residents on how they can take steps to deal with problems arising from later hours.

We have reprinted the pictures used in the Observation Game at the 2003 AGM. Why not try again to identify the location of these places before going to the answers page? Click here to start

If there's something you think you've seen on this website in the past, but cannot find it now, try the File Downloads page - it's the repository for a number of files that are not necessarily current but which may still be of interest.

Several downloads on this site are offered in Adobe PDF format. If you haven't already got it, you can download the latest version of Adobe Reader by clicking on the logo below.

The Pictures page still has plenty of space for more images. This is a free and informal gallery for you to share interesting and relevant pictures of Redland or Cotham with other members. How about some historical pictures? Do let me know. You can email me or telephone on Bristol 942 1204.
